Passenger and Cargo Performance Indicator
Last March 2020, due to the Covid 19 pandemic, the government decided to close both road and air borders however freight activities remained active. From March to August 2021, international commercial flights were totally suspended then the traffic resumed progressively in August 2021 with sanitary measures in place (temperature control, mandatory negative PCR test at arrival).
Since 2017, the government has launched the construction of a
new airport Ouagadougou -Donsin located 35 km from the capital to
meet the continuous increase of the traffic. This project is
piloted by the MOAD
(Maitrise d’ouvrage de l’aéroport de Donsin) with an opening
scheduled in 2024.
